Registration for the fall homeschool semester

  • Class options on Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays
  • There will be an opportunity to join the Homeschool NASP team in the fall in addition to the Homeschool Archery classes

SUMMER 2025 Archery Camp

JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development ) Youth Classes

  • Classes are once a week for one hour.
  • Ages 8-18 Years Old.
  • $99 per month.

Travel Team

  • This is the next level!
  • For archers who are more serious about wanting to do better in competitions.
  • Archers are required to perform at higher levels than before.
  • Archers who have earned this level must have their own equipment.
  • High Desert’s Travel Team members strive to be more competitive when going to tournaments.
  • Traveling and making friends from around the nation helps to encourage and challenge the archer to be their best.

Adult Class

  • In this class students will learn how to shoot a bow properly. They may choose between basic compound or recurve. Having your own equipment is encouraged but not mandatory as we have plenty of equipment to use.
  • Archers will learn how to handle a bow safely and be safe around others.
  • Archers will learn about Tournaments and how to score them. They will be challenged regularly to continue to raise their skills and better their scores.
  • Archers will most importantly have fun and play games and drills regularly that are skill building.
  • Students will learn about the equipment they use and how to be respectful of others while building self-confidence.

  • Adult Olympic Archery Development is for adults, and offers identical benefits to the Junior Olympic Archery Development class.

Masters Class

  • For the senior person who has some extra time. This is a time to spend with others in your age group and to better oneself while getting some exercise and having fun doing it. All levels and skills are welcomed.
  • In this class archers will learn how to shoot a bow properly. They may choose between basic compound or recurve.
  • Archers will learn how to handle a bow safely and be safe around others.
  • Archers will learn about Tournaments and how to score them. They will be challenged regularly to continue to raise their skills and better their scores.
  • Archers will most importantly have fun and play games and drills regularly that are skill building.
  • Students will learn about the equipment they use.

JOAD Class

Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is a program of USA Archery that help young archers enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition!

JOAD offers Barebow, recurve, and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters focus, increased self-confidence, and team building skills. JOAD is open to any youth archer aged 8 to 20 and is designed to grow with the youth archer. Introductory JOAD classes teach the fundamentals of proper shooting form; as the young archer develops, they will learn more advanced techniques and earn achievement awards.

If you choose to pursue competitive archery, USA Archery sanctions many local, state, and national tournaments and hosts a series of virtual tournaments and national events each year. Many archers are drawn to competitions for opportunities to travel, make and see friends, from around the nation, and challenge themselves to aim higher.

Through the Joad system of rewarding excellence, archers have the opportunity to earn awards for their scores, which become progressively more challenging as the archer’s skill level increases.
